As a rule of thumb, the primary reason for discontinuing fragrances is that sales numbers are so low they don’t justify continued production, especially when those resources would be better utilized elsewhere. On occasion, and for a variety of reasons we’ve also offered limited edition products.
Currently, the following fragrances are regrettably discontinued and unavailable: L’Orchideé Terrible, Violet Disguise, Mosaic, An Air of Despair, Decisions, Decisions, Blend No. 83, and Whispered Myths. Do you love Telegrama? You might want to order a bottle now.
Shipping Information
Below are some of are common questions about Shipping
Here at Imaginary Authors, we ship our US orders via USPS or UPS depending on the shipping method selected at checkout.
Free Shipping & "Standard" - USPS:
Free shipping is offered on orders that are over $75. This shipping method will be a standard shipping method via USPS and usually takes 3-7 business days for shipping. If your order is under $75, you will see a "Standard" shipping option at checkout for $4.95 which is also the standard USPS shipping method taking 3-7 business days.
Expedited Shipping Methods - UPS:
We have expedited shipping options at checkout if you are hoping to get your order sooner. These options will all ship via UPS and the following is offered: UPS GROUND, UPS 2ND DAY AIR, UPS NEXT DAY AIR. Keep in mind that certain shipping options may not be offered depending on where you are located in the United States.
For expedited orders, orders must be placed before 9am PT in order to ship out the same business day. If placed after 9am PT, they will ship out the following business day.

We currently only ship internationally to countries located in Europe. We offer our entire collection of 50 ml bottles, along with our "The Complete Works" set. We do not offer soaps, candles, body oils, travel sprays, or individual samples at this time.
If you are unable to checkout on our site or see items listed as "Unavailable", that means we unfortunately do not ship those items to your country.
For countries outside of Europe, we recommend checking out some of our amazing partners that sell our product, who may be able to ship to your country:
Bloom Perfume, Lulua, and Lucky Scent are all amazing partners of Imaginary Authors and they ship to many countries worldwide.
We often see USPS mark packages as "Delivered" a day or two before they actually get delivered. We understand this is frustrating, and believe us when we say it is very frustrating for us as well. Nine times out of ten the package is delivered a day or two later, so we please ask for your patience to wait and see if it gets delivered. During this time we also recommend checking with neighbors to see if they received it by mistake.
If you do not have your order within 2 business days of it being marked as "Delivered", please reach out to our support team at info@imaginaryauthors.com with your order number, and we will work on getting a replacement sent right away!
If you think your order is lost in transit, please reach out to our support team at info@imaginaryauthors.com and our team will take a look and work on a quick solution.
Keep in mind that orders usually take 1-2 business days to process, and can take 3-7 business days for shipping. USPS will often mis-scan packages as well which may lead to a lack of shipping updates.
Our policy is to wait 10 business days from when the order is placed and if it has still not arrived at its final destination, we will work on getting a replacement sent.
Processing Time:
Please allow 1-2 business days for the processing of your order. During peak holiday seasons, this time frame may increase to 1-4 business days. Expedited orders will have the same processing time as standard orders, so please keep this in mind when you are placing your orders for expedited shipping.
Shipping Times:
For standard shipping options, we ask to please allow 3-7 business days for your order to be delivered. Expedited shipping options are available at checkout and will usually arrive within 1-5 business days depending on the method selected.
If you need your order by a certain day, we highly recommend selecting an expedited shipping option at checkout to ensure it arrives within the time frame you need it.
If you were able to place an order to your country and are having to pay customs fees or UPS / USPS shipping fees, we sincerely apologize. However please be aware that international customs fees vary by country and are out of our control. We will not alter or edit any pricing on customs forms, and any fees will have to be paid by the customer. Imaginary Authors will not reimburse any customs fees that may occur on international orders
Return / Refund Policy
Below are some common questions about returns and exchanges
We will gladly accept returns on unopened, unsprayed bottles / travel sprays of fragrances within 14 days of the order being placed. Follow the instructions below to start your return and receive your free return label.
Please keep in mind that once a fragrance has been sprayed, it is no longer eligible for return to your original payment method. We highly recommend sampling our fragrances first before buying a full bottle to avoid receiving a fragrance that you don't love. Soaps, Candles, and Body Oils must be unopened, unused and wrapped in the original packaging to be eligible for return.
Any products that have been opened or used cannot be returned for a refund back to original payment method. Used items can be returned with 30 days of purchasing for store credit, or exchanged for an item of equal or lesser value. Keep in mind that Imaginary Authors will not cover the return shipping cost for used items, this must be paid by the customer. Additional samples included in the boxed packaging must be included in your return. Items should be returned to the following address:

Once dropped off at the post office, please provide us with a tracking number and we will work on providing a gift card or starting that exchange for you. If an exchange is processed, keep in mind that the exchanged item is final sale and is not eligible for any further exchanges or refunds.
2ml Samples, and Sample Sets are not eligible for return and are final sale.
To start a return, reach out to info@imaginaryauthors.com with your order number, and we will work on getting that started for you if eligible.
All shipping / handling charges that were associated with the original order are unfortunately not refundable due to the shipping service being used to get the product delivered. However, we will cover the cost of returning the item and we will provide a free return label.
Refunds will be made back to the original method of payment (or store credit if outside return window). Customers will receive an email confirmation of the refund and the funds should be processed within 3-5 business days of the email being sent. Funds can only be refunded to the original method of payment.

First off, we thank you for trying our line and we are so sorry the fragrance didn't work out for you. As mentioned in our Return Policy, we do not allow returns on any product that has been opened or sprayed. We highly recommend that our customers try our sample sets before purchasing to find the perfect scent that is full bottle worthy.
We understand in some cases that trying the scent beforehand is not an option, and in these cases we definitely want to work with you on finding a good solution. Please reach out to our awesome support team at info@imaginaryauthors.com and let us know your situation. While we cannot promise anything, we always try to work with our customers on finding something they love and either providing a one time exchange or store credit for future purchases.

When it comes to gift returns, we can definitely work with you on finding the perfect item from our site. While we cannot provide a refund for items that have been opened or sprayed, we can work on providing you with an exchange or gift card for the item you were gifted.

Placing an Order
Below are some common questions about our orders
If you would like to cancel your order, please reach out to info@imaginaryauthors.com as soon as possible with your order number, and we will work on getting the order cancelled for you if possible.
If the order has not already shipped, we should be able to cancel the order without any issues. If the order has shipped, than unfortunately we will not be able to cancel the order.
Once we get your order information, we will look into this and do our best to accommodate any cancellation requests.
If your order has not already shipped from our warehouse, we should be able to change your shipping address. Please reach out to info@imaginaryauthors.com with your order number and new shipping address as soon as possible, and we will see if we can get it changed for you.
Keep in mind that if your order has already shipped, we will not be able to change the shipping address and you will need to reach out to the shipping carrier to see if changes can be made.
If you have any questions or problems with this, let us know and we will do what we can to find a solution. We will always make sure you get your order.
Unfortunately, once an order has been placed we are not able to change the products in the order in any way. If your order has not yet shipped, we may be able to cancel this order for you and you can place a new order for the correct items. Please reach out toinfo@imaginaryauthors.comright away and we can work on cancelling your order if it has not yet shipped.
On our site you are only able to use one discount code at a time. You are not able to stack discounts, or use discounts along side site-wide promotions. If you have further questions, let us know and we can look into this further and see what we can do.
If you are trying to use a discount code after you placed an order, reach out to our support team as soon as possible and we will take a look and see if we can get it applied for you. We cannot make any promises, but will definitely look into and see what we can do for you!

They are available in the following increments: $10, $25, $50, $75, and $100.
Gift cards are delivered by email with a link and private code to redeem at checkout on our website. Our gift cards have no additional processing fees and expire 18 months after purchase.

Below are some common questions about our products
We are often asked about the distinction between Perfume and Cologne. Allow us to clarify: these labels denote the concentration of the formula and the ratio of oils to alcohol. Below are the categories based on the percentages of the ratio of oil to alcohol in a fragrance.
Parfum: 22% +
Eau de Parfum: 14-22%
Eau de Toilette: 8-14%
Eau de Cologne: 3-8%
All of the Imaginary Authors fragrances are Eau de Parfum, with concentrations ranging from 18-22%. Telegrama is the only exception which is an Eau de Parfum with a 16% concentration.
At Imaginary Authors, our commitment to ethical practices is unwavering. We proudly declare that our fragrances are free of parabens and phthalates, and we categorically abstain from animal testing.
Our fragrances are meticulously composed using a harmonious blend of essential oils, absolutes, isolated molecules, safe synthetic molecules, C02 oils, and resins. We do not use unlabeled or unmarked mixed blends of oils.
Our products do not contain gluten, however we do not test for gluten sensitivities. If you are worried about any type of reactions to gluten in our products, please consult with your doctor before using our products.

Yes, currently each of our perfumes and fragrances are crafted in accordance with vegan principles, and do not contain any animal product.

This is a great question ... and the answer is absolutely! There are definitely some scents that may lean more masculine or more feminine, but overall they were created without gender in mind. We highly recommend keeping an open mind and sampling all the fragrances to see which ones are full bottle worthy!

Our body oils are made up of Jojoba oil (95%) and fragrance oils (5%). Jojoba oil is vegan, and has many beneficial properties to it!
